MODR Trainee Conference Bursary Guidelines
McMaster’s Centre for Metabolism, Obesity and Diabetes Research (MODR) is delighted to announce the initiation of the MODR Trainee Conference Bursary. This bursary, with a value of up to $500 per student, supports MODR trainees and their supervisors with registration costs and abstract submission fees associated with attending conferences to present their research.
Who can apply?
All MODR trainees. A MODR trainee is a McMaster student, either undergrad, MSc, PhD or Post doctoral fellow that is supervised by a MODR investigator.
Eligibility requirements:
- A substantial recorded attendance at seminars in the 2023-2024 academic year
- The applicant must be the presenting author of a poster or oral presentation at the conference they plan to attend/have attended
- Conferences must occur within the time frame of May 1, 2023, to April 30, 2024
How to apply:
Please send the following information to modr@mcmaster.ca by April 5, 2024, with your MODR supervisor cc’d:
- Conference registration receipt
- Conference program
- Proof of acceptance of conference presentation (This should include correspondence from event organizers showing acceptance of presentation, presenter name, date, type of presentation, and title of presentation)
- Presentation Title/ Presentation Abstract and author list
All conference bursary applications are reviewed by the MODR Educational Programming Committee and MODR Co-Directors.
