Joan Krepinsky
Is the protein GRP78 important to diabetic kidney disease?
This research is focused on examining whether disrupting the interaction between GRP78 and a2M, which forms scar proteins associated with kidney failure in individuals with diabetes, can slow or improve diabetic kidney disease.

This pilot study will monitor energy expenditure in youth with obesity undergoing weight management interventions and involve them in a youth advisory group. Dr. Morrison and her team aim to understand how energy expenditure changes, and to use these insights to guide future interventions to prevent obesity and diabetes in youth.
